First Critique of 2015

A brand new year brings a brand new Take 52 Weekly Photography Challenge and I’m proud to say that this year its bigger and more lively than ever!  We had a record number of submissions and I am promising to try my best at being consistent with one video critique per week.

Take 52 weekly photo challenge critique week 36

It’s week 36 on the Take 52 Challenge and this week’s theme was “Crushed.” I choose this image by Cindy Csomo for critique as I was enthralled by her use of bright colors and when she shared on the Facebook group of the lengths she went to to reshoot the image I was super impressed!

#take52 Weekly Photo Challenge Week 10: Angles

This week’s theme was a nice easy one! Angles are everywhere – as soon as you start to look for them.

Shutter Speed: 1/125

Aperture: f/4.0

ISO: 100

I chose the above picture to critique by Julio Rivera as I felt he did a great job capturing angles and used editing to his advantage to do so by changing his image to black and white.

#take52 Weekly Photo Challenge-Critique Week 9 – Roots

This week the theme was Roots which could have many conations.  I’ve chosen this image below taken by Tommy Polnaszek

two little boys sitting on rocks and roots fishing in a river

Shutter Speed:1/2500

Aperture:f2.8

ISO:100

as it indeed said “Roots” in many ways.

Take a look at the video below to hear my brief critique.

#Take52 Critique Week 8 – Blue

Beautiful images again this week from all the challengers on Facebook.  It makes me so happy to “stalk” the page and overhear y’all chatting back and forth especially about how much this challenge has helped them become better photographers.

Take 52 Weekly Photo Challenge – Critique

The #Take52 Weekly Photo Challenge has REALLY taken off this year and I am happy to report so many people are fully participating, uploading and sharing on the Facebook Group and commenting and critiquing other people’s images.

It’s been really difficult for me to keep up with the stream and comment on everyone’s so rather than discriminate, I’ve decided to take one image per week and do a little video critique here on the blog.  I’m doing these videos for my students enrolled in my online classes, anyways so one more doesn’t make much difference!

So we are beginning at Week 4: Creamy

The image below was submitted by Katie Hunter – Thanks Katie!
